The Compassionate Visionary
Bishop Richard Woodson, Jr. serves as our President of Mission Tennessee, bringing to the role a remarkable blend of spiritual guidance, academic stewardship, and compassionate leadership. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, but with Montgomery, Alabama as his home of record, Bishop Woodson's formative years were mostly spent in Tacoma, Washington.

With over 21 years of dedicated service in the United States Veterinary Command, he embodies the virtues of commitment and community service. Upon his honorable retirement from the United States Army, Bishop Woodson furthered his education, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Austin Peay State University.
Prior to leading Mission Tennessee, Bishop Woodson served as the Director of Victory Christian Academy (VCA), a role he approached with visionary zeal. Founded in 2017, VCA experienced exponential growth under his guidance. Known for his motto, "There is a genius on the inside of every child; it is our job, as educators, to pray and figure out how to unlock their hidden potential," Bishop Woodson places an unwavering emphasis on academic rigor, spiritual grounding, and character building.

A profound teacher of God's word, he operates under the spirits of wisdom and revelation, consistently encouraging self-examination and spiritual growth. He currently also serves as the Southeast Regional Bishop for the Living Word Covenant Fellowship.

In addition to his extensive professional and spiritual commitments, Bishop Woodson cherishes his role as a family man. Married to 1st Lady [Pastor] Sherry (Stamps) Woodson for three decades, they jointly pastor their growing congregation. The couple is blessed with five children: Richard Bernard, Richard Kenny, Lauren Alexis, Brandon Richard, and Richard III, who are in heaven.

Together with Pastor Sherry, Bishop Woodson lives a life that epitomizes the teachings they share, serving as living testimonials to the power of faith, compassion, and community engagement.
